Dear Prospective Parents

We hope that this letter finds you well despite all the events related to the adverse flood crisis Thailand has been going through over the past few weeks.

Swiss School Bangkok has fortunately remained dry and was allowed to re-open early on 07.11.11. Since then, school operations have been running normally for the great benefit of our students who were able to spend this troubled time with their friends and continue their leaning unhindered at school. We are really very thankful for this outstanding privilege.

In this spirit, we are looking forward to celebrate our Open Day and would like to cordially invite you for a visit to our classes, a guided tour given by our students and a chat in the coffee room, which will give you the opportunity to get an insight into school life at Swiss School Bangkok.

Eintrittskarten für die Nikolausfeier am Samstag, dem 26.11. um 16.30 Uhr in der Deutschen Botschaft sind bei Rita Humberg erhältlich. Schüler/innen, die eine Eintrittskarte zur Nikolausfeier haben, können wenn nötig den Unterricht früher verlassen, um die Deutsche Botschaft rechtzeitig zu erreichen.

Hurray, we have just wrested two full weeks of class time from the flood! A very warm thank you goes to all of you for your confidence, support and commitment, which has made this success possible.

Wir hoffen, dass sich die Hochwassersituation auch bei Ihnen leicht entspannt.

We hope that the flood situation is also unwinding in your case.

Mit grosser Zufriedenheit können wir Ihnen vermelden, dass in den vergangenen zwei Tagen mehr als 90% aller SchülerInnen und 100% aller Lehrkräfte und Angestellten an der Schule anwesend waren.

It is with great satisfaction that we may report you that student attendance has increased to over 90% within the past two days and that 100% of all teachers and staff members have been present at school.

Weitere gute Neuigkeiten sind, dass sich das Wasser an den beobachteten Stellen um die Schule leicht zurückzieht und ein grosser Teil unserer direkten Zufahrtstrasse trocken gelegt werden konnte.

Further good news is that the water level at the monitored points around the school is slightly decreasing and a significant portion of our immediate access road could have been drained.

Das von der Pausenbrotequippe zubereitete Essen schmeckt ausgezeichnet, dasjenige der RIS-Kantine ebenfalls und auch Trinkwasser ist genügend vorhanden.

The meals prepared by the Pausenbrot team are delicious, those cooked in the RIS canteen booths as well and there is sufficient drinking water available.
